Two weeks ago Scottsdale, Arizona showcased musical collaboration between Native American Musicians and a Japanese Musician. It was interesting to listen to them perform crossing cultural ties and creation of new music of two different cultures.
This writer wonders if there can be a cultural exchange in the arts and music area between Asian artists and musicians with Alaska Native and Native American artists and musicians.
One Native Artist who is Tsimshian, Pima and Thono O’odham with three tribes in one for his father is Tsimshian and his mother is Pima and Thono O’odham Tribe. This particular artist has incorporated all three tribes within his artwork. He will be featured at the annual Native American Art Show at the Heard Museum on March 5/6, 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona.
